The Portage Lake Pioneers are a Senior “A” Hockey Team playing in the Great Lakes Hockey League.
The GLHL is one of the oldest semi-professional hockey leagues in the United States.
The Pioneers are one of the oldest hockey teams in the world, being founded just after the start of the 20th century. The team plays its home games in Houghton, Michigan at the historic Dee Stadium. In the birthplace of professional hockey, the Pioneers proudly still carry on the hockey legacy in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for over 100 years.
