The Portage Lake Pioneers have represented the Copper Country as an adult hockey league team since 1903. As you may or may not be aware, the Portage Lake Pioneers are not only a part of the Great Lakes Hockey League (GLHL), where much of the competition is in Wisconsin, but each year they challenge local rivals, the Calumet Wolverines, for the second oldest trophy in hockey, the Gibson Cup. The Pioneers will look to regain control of the cup and bring it back to the Dee Stadium.
The Pioneers continue to be funded by player dues, several fundraisers, game ticket sales, and local business sponsorship support. The continued help from local businesses has saved the team and allowed us to begin making improvements throughout the organization. Thank You!
To continue the local sports traditions, we are reaching out directly to area businesses, alumni, family, and friends, asking for your support and sponsorship.
We are asking for a $250.00 donation, or any support, which will greatly assist the team as it continues to represent the Copper Country.
A $250 donation will ensure:
- 2 season passes to all GLHL home season games (excluding Gibson Cup)
- A reserved spot in the sponsor section of the home game program
- Schedule poster
- Company logo in sponsor section of our website: portagelakepioneers.com
