Portage Lake Pioneers 13, Sun Prairie Killer Bees 5
The Portage Lake Pioneers cruised to a decisive 13-5 victory over the Sun Prairie Killer Bees on Friday night at Sun Prairie Ice Arena. Both teams came out firing in a fast-paced first period, with the Pioneers edging a 4-3 lead thanks to two goals from Wyatt Geshel. The Pioneers broke the game wide open in the second period, scoring seven goals, including a pair from Brendan Erickson and a dominant performance by Spencer Donnelly, who finished the night with two goals and five assists. Sun Prairie’s Logan John and Mike Chavez each scored twice, but the Killer Bees couldn’t contain Portage Lake’s relentless attack, which piled up 78 shots on goal. In net, Aaron Petrulis made 41 saves for the Pioneers, while Heath Bear faced a barrage in the Killer Bees’ crease, stopping 65 of 78 shots.

The Pioneers continued their offensive dominance with a commanding 13-5 win over the Dane County Dairy Kings on Saturday. After jumping out to a 3-1 lead in the first period, the Pioneers exploded for five goals in the second, powered by Zach Hill’s two tallies and a stellar playmaking performance from Brett Hauswirth, who finished the night with seven points (1 goal, 6 assists). Spencer Donnelly contributed two goals and four assists, while Austin Mikesch and Dominick Nettell each added a pair of goals. Despite solid efforts from Dane County’s Roger Schoenike and Nick Anger, who combined for three goals, the Dairy Kings were overwhelmed by Portage Lake’s relentless attack, which generated 61 shots on goal. Camden Burggrabe stood tall in net for the Pioneers, making 45 saves, while Ethan Nappier and Jared Ruzicka split time in goal for Dane County, facing a barrage of scoring chances.
