Both teams battled through overtime, with Mosinee outshooting Portage Lake 56-36 overall, but neither could find the net in extra time. The Papermakers secured the win in the shootout, led by standout performances from McAloon and Kyle Wagner, while goaltender Aaron Petrulis stood tall for the Pioneers, making 50 saves despite the loss.

In the first rematch of the 2024 Kohlman Cup Championship, the Fond du Lac Bears secured a 5-2 victory over the Portage Lake Pioneers Saturday night. The Bears dominated offensively, outshooting the Pioneers 54-33, with standout performances from Matt Letmanski, Ryan Sabel, and Josh Austin, while goalie Justin Davidson made 31 saves. For the Pioneers, Spencer Donnelly was a bright spot, scoring both of their goals. Despite a strong effort from goalie Camden Burggrabe, who recorded 49 saves, Portage Lake couldn’t overcome the Bears' attack.
